The research group is actively involved the synthesis, characterization and device applications of high quality diamond films and other ultra wide band gap materials such as boron nitride (hexagonal and cubic). The focus is on the diamond via microwave plasma CVD method and exploration of electronic and thermal properties of these epilayers. We are also interested in ion implantation in diamond materials and creation of controlled vacancies for applications such as quantum computing. Creation of hetero-junctions such as diamond-cBN via epitaxial growth is another interest.
