Our group has worked, in the past three decades, on a variety of low-dimensional materials for applications in electronic devices and sensors. These can be for the channel materials for low power and next generation computing (2D materials), interconnects (nanotubes, graphene) and dielectrics (oxides, nitrides). Ultrawide bandgap materials such as diamond and BN for high power and high frequency devices are also being pursued. Other areas include thermal management systems and emerging areas such as on-chip energy. Autonomous sensors for various sensing applications that include gas sensing, pressure sensing and bio-sensing are of interest. Design and controlled synthesis, doping and chemical modification of materials along with basic transport measurements has been our main focus.
